Djawa Traders is a recently incorporated entity. Formed by two brothers Mark and Kevin Baird. Mark (left) lives in Jupiter, Florida and is an airline pilot. Kevin lives in Jakarta, Indonesia and is a retired Naval Captain. Kevin's work with the Navy took him in Jakarta for four tours of duty and his love of Indonesia motivated him to retire there and call it home. Their Indonesian partner in Djawa Traders is Claudia Surjadjaja. On Mark's visits to Indonesia he noticed many furniture pieces and works of art that he felt could find would fit nicely into the homes of discriminating buyers in south Florida as well as elsewhere. Out of this concept our company was formed.
Kevin and Claudia have traveled extensively through all parts of this extraordinarily diverse island nation. They know the people, the culture and the crafts. They travel the width of the Indonesian archipelago to find truly unique and highly crafted pieces that are exceedingly difficult to locate here in the United States. Djawa Traders has the suppliers, craftsmen and artists to accommodate most any custom order of furniture, doors, columns and carvings. The only real limitation is your imagination. |
