Armoires - Tropical homes in Asia lack closets in construction.  The climate precludes small spaces like closets lacking in circulation and natural light.  The European (principally Dutch) influence on the archipelago introduced the need for closets and Indonesian craftsman have for centuries been making functional and decorative armoires serving as closet space. These pieces often incorporate a great deal of local tradition and style.

Coffee tables - Coffee tables in Java serve the familiar purposes of function and style in providing a decorative platform at sitting hand level for refreshments.  Traditional Javanese coffee tables tend to be wider and bit lower, with the posts of the four legs slightly protruding above the table surface for added sturdiness of construction.  In some tables, these protruding legs on one side extend a foot or more above the table surface, and this feature reveals their original purpose as sewing tables. The posts provided convenience in managing fabrics being sewn by hand. Javanese themselves often give sewing tables a second life as a coffee table, with or without the taller posts surviving the transition.  We offer solid teak, hand-crafted traditional Javanese coffee tables.

Benches - The bench forms an important element of interior household furnishing in traditional Javanese homes.  The smooth hard surface of crafted solid teak provides a comfortable and cool spot to sit or lounge about.

Side Tables - Javanese craftsmen create a variety of smaller tables serving many functions and represented in many styles.  On Java these tables may be found just about anywhere around a traditional home, serving as platforms of convenience at doorways, bedside, bathroom and even the kitchen.
